It was so much fun meeting all the teams at the Duel on the Delaware scrimmage this Saturday! We had a great time competing with and talking to all the teams there. After scrambling all morning to get our robot in working order we found ourselves in the first match with four robots competing! On the blue alliance, us and Titanium Devils 8705 and in the red alliance Watt's Up 5169 and Watt Next 7350.
As a rookie team getting ready to compete on a field with other robots for the first time, we needed a lot of help. Our main challenge yesterday was a servo which jittered any time it moved (rather than moving smoothly from point A to point B). We would like to send a huge thank-you to foobar 6045, Watt's Up 5169, and MOE 365 who helped us try and figure out what the problem was. Another thank-you to Matt from MOE for helping me with Autodesk Inventor. And of course a huge, huge thank-you to New Jersey FTC and First State Robotics for organizing the Duel, Salem Community College for letting us use their facilities, and last but not least all the volunteers who made this event possible. We think it's a great way for teams to get to know each other before a competition and get help if they need it - we certainly did! Posted by "E. A. Poe"
