History
In early June 2014 'E.A.Poe' (and her parents, Ms. Dockter and Dr. Onstad) from MOE 365 FTC realized that the FIRST Delaware community based teams were all going to be full in the coming season. Looking for a new challenge and an opportunity to include more people in FIRST, they decided to start a new FTC team in northern Delaware. They invited 2 other students, 'Emily Dickinson' and 'Dr. Seuss', to help them start a new team. Dr. Seuss's mother, Michelle, was also invited to be a founding mentor of the team.
Midway through the 2015-2016 season RKR's original founding family found themselves getting ready to move out of state, leaving the team wondering what their next step would be. The first thought was simply to end their last season together by giving it their all and seeing how far they could get. Rhyme Know Reason ended their season at the last World Championship in St. Louis, MO with their mentor winning the Compass Award. Now in the 2016-2017 season, they are ready to try again with their new head coach, Michelle!

Name
Our name, Rhyme Know Reason, stands for the three things we think are the most important that we learn in FTC. Rhyme is having fun, being creative, and making new friends. Know stands for the knowledge we gain through learning, and Reason is thinking logically – reasoning.
Purpose
Our mission is to build a fun, cohesive team and an amazing robot, learning as much as we can along the way. Our goal is to spread the message of FIRST, especially FTC, throughout the state of Delaware, and to inspire others to learn about STEM. We want to improve our skills in technology, engineering, and communication, as well as our teamwork. Using these skills, we will make a difference in the world.
